Towards quantum advantage in engineering simulation

This workshop will convene researchers from academia, industry and government labs to assess the current state and near-term potential of quantum computing for engineering disciplines, including civil, mechanical, materials and advanced manufacturing. The workshop will focus on research and development to achieve tangible benefits from quantum computing in solving engineering problems involving differential equations, multiscale and multiphysics mechanics, optimization and uncertainty quantification across the aforementioned disciplines. Participants will identify short-term application areas with concrete engineering impact, define challenge problems and build a community roadmap that accelerates quantum computing-enabled engineering.
